Dave's Remodeling, McKees Rocks, PA, Laborer, May, 2005 - Present
  • This is my father's construction company that I work for in the summer. While not pertaining to journalism, I've learned plenty of valuable life tools that have allowed me to grow as an individual and develop a sense of responsibility and committment, which has transferred into my writing.

Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh, PA, Guest Services Representative, April, 2008 - September, 2008
  • As a guest services representative with the Pittsburgh Pirates, I was able to gain access to the behind-the-scenes operations of a professional sports team on a daily basis. Aside from performing my own duties, which consisted of handling consumer questions and comments, as well as helping with the overall operations on game days, I was able to develop a respect and understanding for what it takes to produce major league events consistently and efficiently. I developed a newfound sense of admiration for those who go unnoticed, or unappreciated, in the sports world.

Robert Morris University Sentry Newspaper, Moon Township, PA, Writer, August, 2006 - Present
  • Upon my arrival at Robert Morris University, I immediately became associated with the student-produced newspaper, doing everything I could to contribute to the paper's overall quality. I consistenly supplied articles for each section of the paper, including News, Opinion and Features, as well as Sports.

Robert Morris University Sentry Newspaper, Moon Township, PA, Sports Editor, January, 2010 - Present
  • After three years of contributing articles and helping shape the sports section of the Robert Morris University student newspaper, I was finally able to take the reigns as the editor of the sports section. It's my job to assign articles and ideas to other student writers and to edit and mold their work into print-suitable material. I also continue to attend campus sporting events and write my own pieces for the paper. I have, in my opinion, transformed the sports section from a strictly game reporting-style section into one composed of a mix of reports, features and opinions.

BleacherReport.com, Online, Contributor, March, 2008 - Present
  • As a contributor to the BleacherReport.com website, I've gotten a small taste of what it would be like to be a national sportswriter. Creating articles pertaining to national and local level sports and athletes, and publishing them to the website, I've been able to recieve, as well as contribute, feedback and suggestions from other readers and writers.

Sto-Rox High School, McKees Rocks, PA 15136, High School Diploma, June, 2004
  • As a student-athlete in high school, I developed the ability to juggle a relatively busy schedule, all the while maintaining a successful athletic career all the while keeping my academic responsibilites my top priority. I was inducted as a member of the National Honors Society as a senior in 2004.

Robert Morris University, Moon Township, PA, Bachelors Degree in Communications, December, 2010
  • After brief stints at both Point Park Univesity and the Community College of Allegheny County, I came to Robert Morris and immediately found a sense of purpose and direction, enrolling communications major and concentrating my efforts in the journalism field. While contributing as both a writer and the sports editor of the school's student-produced newspaper, I also became a member of the university's inaugural inductees into the Society of Collegiate Journalists.
