While doing this I use a variety of instruction methods and adaptive tools to teach disabled students. The students I would instruct range from mild learning difficulties to severe and chronic physical and mental impairments. As an educator, I also collaborate with school administrators, other teachers and parents to design independent education plans (IEPs) that set unique educational goals for disabled students. In a days time, I will assist moderately disabled students in standard classes with non-disabled children. I am trained to assist staff in the management of student behavior by applying proactive strategies that are district approved techniques for verbal de-escalation and safe physical restraint, such as Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.

Daily, I was asked to implement modifications and adaptations to the environment or materials as directed by the licensed teacher, and assist staff in maintaining charts and other records related to student(s) progress. Assisting students in community, recreational, school, and leisure activities under the direction of my teacher.
