Community College of Denver, 1111 W Colfax Avenue Denver, CO 80204-2026 Scribe Block Technician, April 2011 to Present
- Responsible for maintaining the back-end of the DegreeWorks and DegreeCheck programs through usage of the Scribe program. The DegreeWorks and DegreeCheck programs allow students and advisors at Community College of Denver to, in real-time, check a student's progress toward any degree, program, or certificate. This is accomplished by comparing the student's past and current coursework to set requirements for each program. The information and instructions about fulfillment of these programs are coded into the system through a program called Scribe, which I maintain.

Working toward AAS in Computer Information Systems, Expected December of 2012
- I am currently enrolled at the Community College of Denver. I am in my third year of studies. I have completed more than 30 credit hours of coursework thus far. This coursework has been focused, primarily, on computer hardware, software, and networking. Included in these were the courses necessary to prepare for the CompTIA A+ certification.
| | | PROJECTS
- I had an internship with Professor Mohammed Alsafar at Community College of Denver. During this internship I had intensive, hands-on experience in client-server setup. I also installed many operating systems and network operating systems.
A+ CERTIFICATION
- I sat for, and passed, the CompTIA A+ certification exam in October of 2011. Verification is available at http:verify.CompTIA.org using code CBXE68D15KN2.
A BRIEF HISTORY
- Computers and Information Technology have been a passion of mine for more than 25 years. I have constantly been involved with the newest technologies. Information Technology as a career, however, will be my second career. For the previous twenty years my primary job was that of a working DJ. During my career as a DJ, however, I always stayed on the leading edge of technology; designing and implementing computer-controlled lighting and sound systems that were the first of their kind in the areas that I worked. Finding that career did not offer the stability I need in this part of my life, I made the decision to go back to college and acquire the necessary education and certifications that I needed to begin this new career in IT.
