Responsibilities
Contributing amazing work designing systems and developing code for backend systems which impact hundreds of thousands of users
Optimize and design UI workflow to overcome challenges faced by our operation team
Working with program managers, business development and other engineers to work on smart ways to solve challenging problems.
Improve performance, scalability, and availability of our core systems
Debugging production bugs
Requirements
Build systems that are simple and scale
Expert Command of Ruby, Rails, Javascript
Comprehensive computer-science fundamentals
Expert SQL and Database knowledge
Working with users to identify and solve tough problems
Comfortable working in a Unix environment
BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Specific interest in online shopping or social networks
Active contributor to open source software
Command-line scripting skills
Experience with the nuances of web crawling and fetching
Experience performance tuning MySQL and Apache on Linux
